May 2020: WE’RE ADOPTING!

After months of unknowns, heart break, pain, and loss, we finally have some good news to share: we made the plunge into the journey of adoption!

Adoption was always on the table for us when it came to starting our family. While we loved the idea of getting pregnant and carrying our own baby, we had always talked about how adoption spoke to us. I remember a conversation Patrick and I had a little over a year into dating. We were driving in the car and just talking about the world and everything that is going on in it. We got on the topic of kids and how we both love the idea of bringing a child in need of a family into our own, giving it a life full of love and opportunities. I think God was listening in on that conversation because low and behold, here we are post-cancer, wanting to start a family, and having no doubt in the world that we were meant to adopt a Little Lyons Cub.

On our 4th wedding anniversary, Patrick and I signed with Mustard Seed Adoption Consultants to help guide us through the adoption journey. Shortly after, we scheduled our Virtual (thanks again, COVID-19) Home Study for Thursday, June 11th! We have a lot to get done between now and then, but we couldn’t be more excited at the prospect of getting approved and potentially matched with a birth mother so soon!

We can’t wait to bring home our Little Lyons Cub.
